Rev. Robert E. Baker – Bedford
Rev. Robert E. Baker, 89, of Bedford passed away on Thursday August 21, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in French Lick on October 4, 1924 to Earl F. Baker and Daisy I. (Scruggs) Baker. He married Betty J. Johnson on August 18, 1946 in Bedford and she preceded him in death.
Rev. Robert Baker was a Minister and Evangelist, serving 30 years of Ministry, his passion of evangelism and using his talents for God. He served as a Pastor in Kentucky, Illinois, and Ohio. He was Minister at First Church of God in Ashtabula, Ohio and First Church of God in Welland, Ontario, Canada. He achieved his goal in life sharing God’s word to many. His favorite saying was “Preach it Brother”
Survivors include his daughter; Candace Sue Baker-Korver and husband Todd of Geneva, Ohio, one son; Mark J. Baker of Bedford, two grandchildren; Christopher (Adriane) Baker of Bloomington, and Sherrie Baker of Bloomington, two brothers; Rev. Marvin W. Baker of Anderson and Edgar Baker of Bedford, two sisters; Anita Roach of French Lick and Joyce Collins of French Lick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother; Danny Baker and three sisters; Marion White, Grace Evelyn Flick, and Adria Zea White
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the First Church of God, 3131 W. 16th St. in Bedford.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be sent to the church.
