Forrest “Doug” Crichfield – Bedford
Forrest “Doug” Crichfield, 84, of Bedford, passed away at 1:45 A.M. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his residence.
Born February 14, 1930, in Buffalo, Illinois, he was the son of Forrest Daniel and Dollie Mae (Epley) Crichfield. He married Helen Gannon Abbott on July 10, 1976; and she survives.
He retired from RCA, Indianapolis, where he worked as a Production Control Manager. He also worked as a bus driver for Warren Township Schools in Indianapolis. He was a member of New Hope Community Church, a member of Carlock Masonic Lodge, F&AM, IL, and the VFW, in Bedford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Crichfield, of Bedford; one daughter, Joyce (Danny) Baker, of Indianapolis; three sons, Forrest D. (Kathy) McClelland), of Petersburg, IL, Randy (Marie) Abbott, of Fairland, IN, and Michael Crichfield, of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Jessica Baker, Joshua and Sara Abbott; and adopted sons, Dennis Strong and Omar Ortega.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Noon at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Eads officiating. Burial will be in Erie Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the service hour at noon at the funeral home.
