Danny O. Ellis – Mitchell
Danny O. Ellis, 88, of Mitchell, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born March 28, 1926, in Mitchell, he was the son of Ernest A. and Laura Mae (Spicer) Ellis.
Danny was a mechanic, truck driver and had been a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed his boat “Laura Mae,” loved his dogs, and was a member of Crossroads Community Church.
Survivors include his children, Danny D. (Debbie) Ellis, Mitchell, Sharon Mae (Harvey) Sellers, Alabama, David Keith Ellis, Florida, Marjorie “Peachy” (Bruce) Becker, Bedford, Terry (Denny) Lemm, Madison, Sherry (Mark) Adams, Bedford, Robin (Bill) Woody,Tennessee, Danielle Ellis; 4 step children; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews
His parents; brothers, Lawrence Ellis and Merrell Ellis; and sister, Eva Weaver, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Ken Ransom officiating. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Carmel (Wiggam) Cemetery at Deputy with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 9. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Norman B. Jones – Springville
Norman B. Jones, 75, of Springville, died at 7:58 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Kindred South in Greenwood, IN.
Born March 29, 1939 in Evarts (Harlan County) KY, he was the son of South Tremble Jones and Mary Lee (Taylor) Jones Alford. He married Alma P. Phillips on February 29, 1960 and she survives. He retired from Indiana University in Bloomington where he was a tool maker in the cyclotron facility. He was a member of the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle where he loved serving his Lord as song leader and Sunday school teacher. He also loved spending time with his family and gardening. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching the BNL Stars and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Survivors include his wife, Alma, of Springville; two sons, Bruce Jones of London, KY and Jeff Jones and wife, Mecca, of Springville; four grandchildren, Amanda Britton and husband, Mike, Andrew Jones and wife, Anna-Lisa, Caitlin Jones and Allison Jones; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Jones, Cora Britton and Lina Britton; a brother, Larry Jones and wife, Terrie, of Greenfield, IN; a sister, Wanda Bridwell of Bedford; a brother-in-law, Howard Phillips and wife, Amy, of Springville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three brothers, Bill, Jerry and Marvin; three sisters, Kay, Gracie and Irene.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, April 11th at the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle with Pastor Mark Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowder Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle Building Fund.

Harold E. Meadows – Bedford
Harold E. Meadows, 84, formely of Bedford, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Mitchell Manor.
Born June 4, 1929, in Lawrence Co., IN, he was the son of Homer and Lula (Stultz) Meadows. He married Madonna Bex on November 11, 1988 and she died on June 2, 2009. He had worked as an overhead crane operator for several stone companies and for U. S. Steel. He retired in 1990. He was of the Christian Faith and was also a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1948-1952.
Surviving are one brother, Dennis (Joyce) Meadows, Lafayette, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer, Glen and Charles Meadows; and four sisters, Helen Hunsucker, Evelyn Hutton, Frances Stratton and Jeanette Tillery.
A graveside service is planned at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens, Bedford, with Pastor Reggie Clark officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military rites will be accorded by members of American Legion, Gillen Post #33, Bedford. Friends may call on Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford.
