John W. Phillips – Bedford
John W. Phillips, 77, of Bedford, died at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Westview Nursing Home.
Born January 7, 1937 in Oatesville, IN, he was the son of John and Dorothy Jean (Hughes) Phillips.
He married Linda Sullivan on November 26, 1958, in Bedford, Indiana; and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked on the oil fields, and later worked for Gold Foundry in Columbus, IN, before becoming disabled.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Phillips of Tunnelton, IN; two daughter, Kathy Beavers, of Sparksville, IN, and Brenda Edwards, of Bedford, IN; two sons, Johnny Phillips, of Bedford, IN, and Danny Phillips, of Tunnelton, IN; eleven grandchildren, Tasha and Samantha Beavers, Kristie and Johnathan Phillips, Carrie Cook, Shane, Daniel, and Josh Phillips, Patricia Stevens, Shawna and Nyoka Albertson, and Cody W. Edwards; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; three sisters; a half-brother; and a half-sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will be in Tunnelton Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Roger Dale Lane – Williams
Roger Dale Lane, 51, embarked onto his journey home on March 13, 2014, after a brief illness.
Roger was born November 9, 1962, in Mitchell, the son of Jesse B. Lane and Donna Kay (White) Lane. He was currently a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250. He was previously employed at Carpenter Body Works, Dana Corporation and INDOT. Roger was previously married to Beth Johnson.
He is survived by three brothers, David and Tammy Lane, Jim and Michelle Lane, Bob and Betty Lane, all of Mitchell one nephew, Bradley D. Lane of Mitchell.
Roger played a positive father role in the lives of many children, whom he considered his own, Mackenzie Hanover of Orleans, Cody McVay-Ray and Courtney Bowers, both of Medora and Audrey Wilkerson. He is also survived by longtime companion and caretaker, Analee Hanover of Orleans. Also surviving Roger are eight grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by niece, Jessica Lane, sister-in-law, Rita Lane, and Heidi Hanover, daughter. Also preceding him were both his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Flora White, and paternal grandparents, Mary and Jesse Lane.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
