Jerry Gould – Bedford
Jerry W. Gould, 87, of Bedford, died at 6:16 p.m. Monday, November 4th at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born November 13, 1925 in Bedford, he was the son of Chester L. and Vivian (Warner) Gould.
He was a graduate of Bedford High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Yorktown CV 10 “Fighting Lady” in WW II. He received America Area Victory Medal WW II, twelve battle stars – Asiatic Pacific, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Presidential Unit Citation WW II.
He married Claudine M. Taylor on June 25, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2011.
Jerry retired from the Bedford Fire Department after twenty years of service.
He was elected and served on the Shawswick Township Trustee Board and was the Planning Director for the City of Bedford for eight years. While employed by the city, he was instrumental in starting the TASC bus service.
He was a member of the First Church of God, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM and forty year member of the Salvation Army. He was a licensed real estate broker and former owner of Gould Auto Sales.
Survivors include a daughter, Regina K. Buttz and husband, Jim of Albuquerque, NM; a son, John J. Gould and wife, Sue, of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Cassie Gould of Bedford; six grandchildren, Dana I. Tran, Tara N. Elliott, Carrie M. Gould Butterly, Matthew J. Gould, Hannah S. Gould and Lane T. Gould; three great granddaughters, Lexi Tran, Ella Tran and Lyla Elliott; two great grandsons, London Elliott and Michael D. Butterly; a sister, Betty Gould Lisherness of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Mike D. Gould and a sister, Patricia Chappell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm on Saturday, November 9th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Randy Corbin officiating, John Williams providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 8 pm on Friday, November 8th and from 2 pm until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 pm.
Honor Guard and pallbearers are members of the Bedford Fire Department, Mike Beedie, Neil Riley, Brent Allen, Jeff Key, Jeremy Nolan, Jeremy Holsapple, Luke Pinnick and Justin Spires.

Robin Jones – Shoals
Robin Jones, 56, Shoals, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.
He was born on June 1, 1957 in Dubois County to William “Bill” and Janie (Vogel) Jones. He attended Springs Valley Schools. Robin was the owner/operator of Jones Trucking. He loved mushroom hunting and enjoyed spending countless hours doing his own mechanical work in his garage.
He is survived by his longtime companion Debbie Montgomery, of Shoals; two sons, Nathan Jones and Brittany Blaker of Shoals, Roy Montogomery and Teresa Jo Lundy, of Shoals; one daughter, Melissa Dobson, of Shoals; six granddaughters, Brooklyn Dobson, Adriane Dobson-Payne, Alexis Jones, McKenzie Jones, Attikka Blaker and Brazelea Lents, all of Shoals; one brother, James and Tonya Jones, of Paoli; two sisters, Candi and Scott Jones, of Medora and Susie and Mark Road, of French Lick.
He was preceded in death by one son in infancy and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Homes in Shoals. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Moffatt officiating.

Loren D. Lane – Bedford

Loren D. Lane, 89, of Bedford, died at 4:04 a.m. on Monday, November 04, 2013, in Bedford.
Born August 1, 1924 in Monroe County, he was son of Stanley and Anna (Williams) Lane. He married the love of his life, Mary Stigall-Gilbert on July 28, 1949. He was retired from General Motors as a welder. He was a very active member of Englewood Baptist Church, member of UAW 440, Shawswick Township Volunteer Fire Department and a U.S. Marine Corps, World War II, veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Mary of sixty-four years, of Bedford; one stepson, George (Sonjia) Gilbert of Syracuse, IN; Two daughters, Linda (Vernie) Narvell of Salem, IN and Nancy (Paul) Dorsett of Bedford; One son, John (Mary) Lane of Bedford; Eight Grandchildren and Thirteen Great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, two brothers; Leon and Ervin Lane and one sister; Blanche George.
Funeral service will be on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Englewood Baptist Church, with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Gillen Post 33 DAV Chapter 2. Friends may call on Thursday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the building fund of Englewood Baptist Church.

Larry Dewayne Cagle – Bedford
Larry Dewayne Cagle, 74, of Bedford went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born February 19, 1939 in Haleyville, Alabama, he was the son of Tafton and Trannie (Bailey) Cagle. He married Emma Sue Brock on February 19, 1960. Larry retired from Otis Elevator in Bloomington in 1994. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1956 to 1960.
Survivors include a son, Larry Cagle and wife, Becky of McCordsville; two daughters, Carla Pace and husband, Danny, Gayle Stiles and husband, Ed, all of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Joshua Pace and wife, Chelsea, Jessica Cagle, Trent Miller, Justin Pace and wife, Kelsey, Amanda Cagle, Kyle Miller, and Traci Miller; two step-grandchildren, Toby and Daniel Pace; one great grandchild, Garrett; three step great grandchildren, Braxton, Taylor and Blake; one sister, Verna Mae Rugroden and husband, Curt of Philo, IL; one brother, Garry Cagle and wife, Judy of Apopka, FL; one sister-in-law, Louella Cagle of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nellodean Cagle and a brother, Therman Junior Cagle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, November 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Silverville, IN. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Pallbearers are Joshua Pace, Trent Miller, Justin Pace, Kyle Miller, Danny Pace and Larry Cagle. Honorary pallbearers are Jessica Cagle, Amanda Cagle and Traci Miller. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book and light a candle in memory of Larry at www.daycarter.com.
