Errol Wayne “Cotton” Thompson – Oolitic
Errol Wayne “Cotton” Thompson, 69, of Oolitic, died at 2:58 pm on Thursday, October 17th at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Robert M. Brett – Shoals
Robert M. Brett, 92, of Shoals, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:40 p.m. at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born June 22, 1921 in New Albany, Indiana to Alec and Bertha (Hadley) Brett.
He married Blanche Hovis on July 3, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 22, 2009. Robert graduated from high school and then joined the Army Air Corps, serving in World War II. He retired from the United States Postal Service as postmaster at Shoals and he also farmed. He served as pastor for the Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lois Brett, of Shoals; sons Kenneth Brett and wife Carolyn, of Shoals, Robert Wayne Brett, of Shoals, Roger Brett, of Shoals; eight grandchildren, Julie MacKinnon, Paul Wade, Josh Brett, Eric Brett, John Brett, Jill Damon, Brian Parson and Amy Carpenter; 27great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, Wilma Wade; two sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Homes in Shoals and a funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Hickory Ridge Cemetery. American Legion Post 61 will accord military gravesite rites.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Hickory Ridge Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Ada C. Goff – Bedford
Ada C. Goff, 91, of Bedford, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday October 17, 2013, in Owensville, IN.
Born February 8, 1922 in Whitesville, KY, she was the daughter of Egnacias and Mary (Gilmore) Mattingly.
She married Lonnie Goff on October 18, 1947; and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1995. She was a food service worker and a homemaker. She was a member of Dive Christian Church in Bedford, IN.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet and husband Alvin Paul, of Evansville, IN; and Maressa Seymour, of Springfield, OH; four grandchildren, Trina and husband Stephen Reed, of Fort Branch, IN; Michael Paul, of Evansville, IN; Jeremy and Sandy Brookmyer, of Springfield, OH; and Jessica Seymour, of Springfield, OH; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald Mattingly, of KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Martin Frances; one grandson Joshua Brookmyer; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
