Alberta F. Chenault age 92 of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 8:43 AM at Johnson Christian Village.

George Robert “Bob” Powell – Orleans
George Robert “Bob” Powell, 87, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born January 20, 1926 in Orange County, he was the son of Walter C. and Sarah Lois (Pruett) Powell. He married Imogene Ruth Barlow April 17, 1948. He retired from Mitchell Crushed Stone and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Bob was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, served with the 138th Division in the Philippines on the Island of Luzon. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Imogene Powell, Orleans; sons, David Powell, Mitchell, Barry Powell and wife Judy, Mitchell, Darryl Powell and wife Molly, Mitchell, Mike Powell Mitchell; siblings Lee C. “Plush” Powell and wife Mary, Mitchell, Bill Powell and wife Eva, Mitchell, Delores M. Beasley, Mitchell, Lyle S. “Bud” Powell and wife Myra Lou, Bloomington, Bernard Powell and wife Moyne, Bedford; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Judy officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church.

Janet S. Eagan – Bedford
Janet S. Eagan, 74, of Bedford, passed away peacefully at 4:55 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at her residence. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 24, 1938 in Bedford to Henry and Lillie (Box) Jenkins. She spent the majority of her life being “Mamaw Janet” to all of the many kids that she babysat for. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping and was an avid I.U. basketball fan. She will be greatly missed.
Her Christian family included East Oolitic Community Church and Hillcrest Christian Church. As a young woman, she married Cecil Melton. Later she married Clyde Phipps and Clovis Eagan who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by seven children, Michael Eagan, Rosemary and husband Boyd Godsey, Donna and husband Jeff Richie, Cathy McFarland, Diana and husband Tony Starr, Tina and husband Mike Beedie and Lori Gorman; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren. She was one of twelve children and is survived by brother, Joe Jenkins and John Jenkins her twin brother; sisters, Alice Stearns and Zella Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Michael; four brothers, Art, Hubert, Bill and Perry; three sisters, Helen, Leatha and Ethel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, August 17 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Friday, August 16 and from 9 am until the hour of the service on Saturday.
