Marjorie A. Tatom – Bedford|
Marjorie Martin Colgan Medaugh Short Tatom 88, a devoted wife and mother, went home to be with her God, surrounded by her family. She lived a fruitful life and brought joy to those around her.
Marjorie was born January 1, 1925, in Zenas, In., to Orion O.and Lula Fike Martin, and was a devoted wife to Wilson Colgan, Albert Medaugh, Herschel Short, and Hank Tatom; who preceded her in death. She was the proud mother of Rev. David Colgan (Peggy)of Bedford, Marsha Colgan King (Ron) of Bedford, Tom Colgan (Lynne)of Shropshire, England, and Patricia Colgan Bolton(Gary)of Fayetteville, Georgia.
She was loved and adored by her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was also loved by several Step-children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Granny Tatom’s gift in life was to love and pray for her family and to make beautiful quilts that she gave to others. She made over 500 quilts, that were loved by family, friends, pastors, missionaries, and cancer patients.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21st from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home Bedford with a Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bedford Free Methodist Church 7th & R Street in Bedford with Pastor David Colgan officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marjorie’s final resting place will be with her first husband, Wilson D. Colgan, in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
