Mildred I. King – Bedford
Mildred I. King, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 9:09 a.m. on Friday, June 07, 2013, at Stonebridge Health Center, Bedford, IN.
Born April 10, 1934 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Cain) Mason.
She married Charles W. King on March 8, 1969; and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1996. She retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics, Bloomington. She was a member of Dive Christian Church, Bedford, IN.
Surviving are her daughter, Arvetta and husband Tim Rosenbaum, Bedford; one granddaughter, Tawnya Sons, Bedford; one great grandson, Justin Sons, Bedford; one sister Brenda and husband Bill Cornell, Mitchell; one brother, Leroy Mason and wife Sandy, Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral service will be on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Timothy J. Sears – Bedford
Timothy J. Sears, 48, of Bedford, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence.
Born February 16, 1965 in Bedford, he was the son of Merlin and Erma (Williams) Sears. He had worked at Visteon for over
twenty years.
Survivors include a daughter, Katie Sears of Mitchell; a sister, Patricia Sears of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Marvin B. York – Mitchell
Marvin B. York, 91, Mitchell, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 15, 1921, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Herschel and Myrtle (Grimes) York. He married Helen J. Smith September 24, 1942.
He retired from Carpenter Body Works and worked for York Construction. Marvin was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II and served four years on Ice Breaker. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 250, the Honor Guard, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. He was on the 1940 basketball team and a graduate of Mitchell High School.
He had served on the Lawrence County Council, Alcohol Beverage Board, and was a Lawrence County Commissioner from 1968-1976. Marvin was a member of the First Baptist Church and Mitchell Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Helen York, Mitchell; daughter in law, Janet York, Mitchell; granddaughters, Carabeth (Ed) Grubb; Ashlea Jackson; great grandchildren, Taylor Leigh Jackson, Caeden Dael Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, M. Keith York; sister, Lucille McNeely and brothers, Harley, Chase, and Robert York.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry W. McMahan officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.

James Edward “Jimmy” Powell – Mitchell
James Edward “Jimmy” Powell, 58, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born December 8, 1954, in Corbin, Kentucky, he was the son of James Steely Powell and Jessie Schultz. He married Rita Sheryl Spears December 31, 1974. He was employed at Wabash for 35 years before becoming self employed. James was a member of the Campbellsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Powell, Mitchell; son, James Rodney Powell, Louisville; mother, Jessie Schultz, Greenwood; brothers, Donnie Powell, Clayton Gordon Powell, Greenwood; sisters, Debbie Tomberlin, Somerset, Kentucky, Juanita Williams, Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Aletha M. Randolph.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Don Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Orleans. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
