Newman Levi “Bud” Conklin – Bloomington
Newman Levi “Bud” Conklin, 79, of Bloomington, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 9:30 p.m. at IU Health Bloomington Hospital Hospice House.
Born March 12, 1934 in O’Fallon, Illinois, he was the son of Newman A. and Margarite (Rable) Conklin. He married Emma Jean Weber on May 23, 1986 in Bedford, IN; and she survives.
He was a Manager with W. T. Grant and the Regional Operations Manager with Coast to Coast Hardware, and also a partner in the Jug Store in Bedford, until it was sold in 2006. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church; American Legion Gillen Post 33, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Jean Conklin of Bloomington; his son, Michael N. (Betty) Conklin of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Kaci and Bailee of Bloomington; two brothers, William Conklin of Caseyville, Illinois, and Scott Conklin of Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lewis Conklin.
There will be a Memorial Service held on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church of Bedford, with Rev. Mark McDaniel officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 12:30 pm until the service time at 2 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church of Bedford.

Margie Jane Haste – Mitchell
Margie Jane Haste, 81, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 10, 1932, in Chilton County, Alabama, she was the daughter of Jady D. and Ella Mae (Collum) Mims. She married Conley Allen Haste May 20, 1950, and he preceded her in death November 8, 2000.
Margie was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Gloria Jean and husband George Velpel, Fremont, Dennis Ray Haste and wife Betty, Mitchell, David Wayne Haste and wife Janie, Mitchell, Randy Lee Haste and wife Kim, Weston, Florida, James Conley Haste and wife Tina, Bedford, Barry Dean Haste and wife Dianne, Mitchell; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, J. D. Mims, Jr., Hueytown, Alabama, Josephine Bennett, Bessemer, Alabama, Lois Pless, Mitchell, Frances Donaldson, Keystone Heights, Florida, Ruby Faye Irvin, Dora, Alabama
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ricky Allen Haste; sisters, Johnnie Jones, Dorothy Ervin, Willie Mae Fairchild; and brothers, A. J. Mims, Sr., A. C. Northcutt, J. N. Northcutt, William Northcutt, Jimmie Mims, Charles Mims, and James Donald Mims.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Eric Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Lexie R. Holtsclaw – Bedford
Lexie R. Holtsclaw, Sr. age 73 of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 4:04 Pm at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday June 2, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Bedford.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m. at the church Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mertie Yeskie – Mitchell
Mertie Yeskie, 89, of Mitchell, formerly of Oolitic, died at 12:40 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Mitchell Manor.
Born November 23, 1923 in Pulaski Co., KY, she was the daughter of William and Alice (Jones) Keith. She married Warren Eugene Silvers on August 30, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1959. She later married Willard Yeskie on July 27, 1963 and he also preceded her in death on November 13, 1999. She retired from Indiana Laborers Training Institute and was a member of the Oolitic Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Silvers of Marksville, LA, Denny and Mark Silvers both of Bedford; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Nicholas of Tateville, KY; two step-sisters, Reva Jones and Louise Fritos both of Clearwater, FL; three brothers, Robert Keith of Bronston, KY, David Keith of Charlestown, IN and Danny Keith of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons, Roger and Tom Silvers; a daughter, Juanita Silvers; grandson, Trevis Silvers; four brothers, Lowell, Otis, Bill and Jim Keith; seven sisters, Clara Helton, Clara Hardwick, Emerine Neely, Magae Godsey, Alice Super, Bertha Dunken and Joyce Seeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Friday, May 31Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11a.m. until the hour of service on Friday, May 31 at Day & Carter Mortuary.
