The following obituaries were received for Thursday –


Gertrude (Trudy) Armstrong – Bedford
Gertrude (Trudy) Armstrong, 95, of Bedford, formerly of Florida, passed away at 5pm on April 5, 2013 at Johnson Christian Village.
Born on March 3, 1918 in Easton, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Ralph and Helen (McNeil) Marsh. She married William G. Anderson on June 18, 1949 and he preceded her in death on August 18 1989, then she married Otis R. Armstrong on June 6, 1993 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2007.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Sherry and husband Wayne Neeley; two step-sons, David Armstrong and wife June and Rick Armstrong and wife Brenda and their families.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Neeley officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the funeral home.

Sherry Batchelor Farrell – Bedford

Sherry Batchelor Farrell age 52 of Bedford, passed away on Sunday April 14, 2013 at her residence in Bedford.
She was born in Bedford on April 4, 1961 to Doyle & Libby (Bridwell) Raines. She married Harold “Sonny” Farrell on September 7, 2010 in Bedford and he survives, Sherry was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; Harold “Sonny” Farrell, of Bedford; one son; Jason Raines and wife Tonya, of Texas; one daughter Lacie and husband Jason Zeller, of Roachdale, Indiana; her father Doyle Raines, of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Mason and Jasmine Zeller, T.J. Dixon; step-children, Gina Farrell, of Grand Junction, Colorado, Chance Farrell, of Grand Junction, Colorado and Matthew Farrell, of Bedford; step-grandchildren, Makayla, Daniel and Josephine Farrell; one sister; Cindy and husband Joe Hunter, of Bedford; nephews, Byron, Chad and Cody Lintz; niece, Bethany Hunter
She was preceded in death by her mother, Libby Raines Hicks and one sister, Shawn Raines
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 3:30 pm at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Friends may call on Saturday from 1 pm until service time at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the White River Humane Society.

Patricia A. Allen – Bedford

Patricia A. Allen, 70, of Bedford, passed away at 9:15 am Wednesday, April 17, 2013.
Born July 9, 1942 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Howard and Alma (Fine) Johnson. She was a home health caregiver with Candle Light Service in Oolitic and attended Dive Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Rick Allen, of Columbia, MD; five sisters, Judy Nichols, of Enid, OK, Brenda Johnson, of Bedford, Loretta Milligan, of Bishop’s Head, MD, Carolyn Middletown, of Flintstone, MD and Debra Knoll, of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, James Johnson, of Bedford and Gilbert Johnson, of Mitchell; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard and Steven Allen; a daughter, Lynn Collins and two children (in infancy); three brothers, Raymond, Russell and Perry Johnson; two sisters, Delores Fish and Dorothy Allen; two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 pm on Friday, April 19th at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from Noon to 2 pm on Friday, April 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the family.
