Jerry Quackenbush – Bedford
Jerry Quackenbush, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 9:38 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home.
Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Shelley Renee Parson – Leesville
Shelley Renee Parsons, 46, of Leesville, passed away at 7pm Thursday, March 28, 2013, at I. U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 5, 1966, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Sheldon Ray Clements, Jr., and Elaine (Chastain) Newlin. She married Shelton Oren Parsons March 18, 1996. Shelley graduated from Bedford-North Lawrence High School in 1984, and received an accounting certificate from Ivy Tech. She was chassis coordinator at Gulf Stream Coach in Nappanee and had been employed at Sipes Body Shop in Bedford. She attended Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Shelton Oren Parsons, Leesburg; mother, Elaine Newlin, Bedford; father, Sheldon Clements, Jr., Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, Nathaniel Maurice Newlin, Bedford and her beloved pets
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church in Mitchell with Rev. Eric Kersey officiating. A fellowship meal will follow the service.

John Edward Blake – Bedford
John Edward Blake, 76, of Bedford, passed away at 1:54 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born October19, 1936 in Bedford, he was the son of Ollen and Nora Etta (Roberts) Blake. He married Ethel Gregory and she survives. He was retired from the City of Bedford Street Department and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He attended Friendly Bible Church and Crossroads Community Church.
Survivors include his wife Ethel, of Bedford; two sons, John Edward Blake Jr., of Martinsville and Joseph Anthony Blake, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Andrea Nicole Blake, of Bedford; a sister Sally Fletcher, of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lisa Joyce Blake.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, April 5th at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, April 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Susie Johnson – Bedford
Susie Johnson, 55, of Bedford, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, April 1, 2013 at her residence.
Born September 15, 1957 in Middletown, OH, she was the daughter of William Clarence and Margie Odel (Smith) Lawson. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Johnson, on July 18, 1975 and he survives. She was a faithful wife, homemaker, wonderful mother and enjoyed being a nanny to her grandchildren. As a young mother, she home schooled her children as they traveled and evangelized throughout the country. She and Bill were pastors of the Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Avoca for twenty-two years. She was known to be friendly, open and loving to all whom she met.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Bedford; two daughters, Amy Johnson, of Bedford and her children, Garrett and Abi Armbrister, Jennifer Thompson and her husband Philip, of Springville and their children, Bailey, Brooklynn and Carter; two sisters, Betty Poling and Kathy Coldiron, both of Middletown, OH; two brothers, Tom Lawson of Middleton, OH and Tony , of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her five sisters: Faye Reed, Georgia DeBord, Margaret Kelly, Shirley Lawson and Joetta Lawson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, April 5th at the Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Avoca with Rev. Larry Daugherty of Alabama and Rev. Larry Pruitt of Tennessee officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, April 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider contributions be made to the family.
