Adam Russel Fischer – Shoals
Adam Russel Fischer, 84, of Shoals, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home. He was born on January 11, 1978 in Zanesville, Ohio to Daniel and Sheila (Reinhart) Fisher. He married Mona Asbell on March 22, 2011 in Gatlinburg, TN.
He was a graduate of Catnedral High School in Indianapolis and Ball State University. He was employed at the French Lick Resort and Casino as a deal. He attended St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shoals.
He is survived by his wife, Mona, of Shoals; parents, Daniel and Shelia Fischer, of Indianapolis; daughters Ashley and Allison Boyd, of Shoals; brother, Eric and wife Sarah Fischer, of Indianapolis; three nephews, Henry Fischer, Lance and Kale Asbell; one niece, Haley Asbell; maternal grandparents, Eldo and Patricia Reinhart, of Holland, IN and Mildred Fischer, of Huntingburg; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shoals. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

John “Bud” Tanksley – Mitchell

John “Bud” Tanksley, 71, of Mitchell, passed away at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his home.
Born February 5, 1941, in Mitchell, he was the son of Roland and Martha (Brewster) Tanksley. He married Lena “Cricket” (Taylor) Grissom August 9, 2002. He was a machinist and had been employed at United Technologies and Dana Corporation. Bud was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietman War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife Lena “Cricket” Tanksley; daughters, Jan Cheryl Reynolds, of Mitchell, Judi Ann and husband Jake Taylor, of Mitchell, Cindy Sue and husband Barry Ryan, of Mitchell; stepchildren, Lori and husband Jeff Lytton, of Bedford, Scott Grissom, of Columbus, Dena Sons, of Bedford, Vince Tanksley and wife Cindie, of Mitchell; sisters, Sue and husband Ronnie Hughett, of Bedford, Patty and husband Chet Banks, of Bedford; 7 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darren William Tanksley; and brothers, Jack Tanksley, David Tanksley, and an infant brother; and two infant sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Richard Grace and Pastor Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4 pm to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers: Chet Banks, Barry Ryan, Donnie Spires, Rich Little, Elvis Mattingly, Scott Grissom and Jeff Lytton.
