The following obituaries were received for Saturday –


Gary D. Barnes – Bloomington
Gary D. Barnes age 73 of Bloomington, passed away on December 21, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born in Greene County on November 19, 1939 to Helda (Beryl) Barnes. He married Betty Jean Anderson on September 2, 1966 and she preceded him in death. Gary was a Custodian for Monroe Community Schools and was a Volunteer Fireman with Van Buren Township in Monroe County. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in 1958, and was a past member of the Odd Fellows in Bloomfield.
Survivors include his son, Michael D. Barnes, of Bedford; one grandson, Ryan Barnes, of Bedford; one brother, Miles R. Barnes of Nashville; one sister, Mina Faye Barnes, of Linton; several Nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Barnes, his parents, and his grandparents who raised him, Charlie & Grace Barnes.
Cremation was chosen, with a memorial service at a later date.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gordon “Flash” W. Sons – Bedford
Gordon “Flash” W.Sons Flash, 61, of Bedford, passed away on Friday December 21, 2012 at IU Health-Bedford.
He was born in Bedford to Marvin and Shirley Sons and Harold and Anna Neideffer, both Marvin and Harold preceded him in death. Gordon was graduate of Shawswick High School Class of 1971, he worked at Broadview Bowl for 30 years in Bedford, was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bedford. Gordon loved being an usher for the church and being involved with Keenagers at First Assembly of God Church. He loved IU Basketball and attended his nieces and nephews school activities and sporting events. Gordon will be missed by so many friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Anna Neideffer, of Bedford; his step-mother, Shirley Sons, of Bedford; his siblings, Judy and husband Cecil Franklin, of Greenwood, Louis Sons and wife Sherri, of Bedford, Cindy and husband Bruce Fender, of Bloomington, LeeAnn Underwood, of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Trisha and husband Steve Wininger, of Bedford, Scott Velasquez, of Bedford, Shannon and husband Tim Louden, of Bedford, Amy and husband Brian Clark, of Bedford, Kyle Sons and wife Kate, of Bloomington,
Nicole and husband Travis Smith, of Springville, Andrew Sons and wife Stacie, of Bedford, Nathan and Daniel Underwood, of Indianapolis; great nieces and nephews, Adison, Morgan and Seth Watkins, Caitlyn and Lothar Clark, Wynter and Nora Sons, Austin and Riley Sons, Dyllon and Peyton Smith, JaKayla Wininger, Kelsey and Colby Velasquez, and Alexa Louden.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Bedford. Friends may call on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at First Assembly of God from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
