The following obituaries were received for Friday –


Viola S. Alhorn – Bedford
Viola S. Alhorn, 88, of Bedford, passed away at 12 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Garden Villa, in Bedford.
Born April 25, 1924, she was the daughter of Hjalmar and Ruth (Johnson) Soder. She married Charles Frank Alhorn, Jr. on October 16, 1948; and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2005. She was a graduate of Bedford High School, with the Class of 1942. She spent many years as office manager at various auto dealerships, including Chase Chevrolet and Pearcy Chevrolet. Viola was a very caring person, who enjoyed cooking and planting flowers; and she dearly loved our family dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Alhorn, of Bedford; grandson, Cody Alhorn, of Bedford; two brothers, Sogi Soder and wife Alice, of Decatur, Georgia, and Gilbert Soder and wife Sue, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral service will be on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

April L. Blanchard – Bedford
April L. Blanchard, 43, of Bedford, passed away at 6:21 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born November 12, 1969 in Oswego, New York, she was the daughter of Catherine (Hibbert) Alton and John Anthony Loomis, and was later adopted by Edward F. Alton. She was a graduate of Oswego High School, Oswego, NY; and was a stay-at-home mom. She was an avid gardener. She loved arts and crafts, from etching glass to making quilts for her family.
Survivors include her parents, Catherine and Edward Alton of Oswego, NY; five children, Sarah Stroud, of Bedford, Joseph Blanchard, of Bedford, Alisha Sandoval, of San Diego, CA, Marissa Clavelli, of Bloomington, and Phillip Blanchard, of Bedford; one grandson, Etzio Stroud, of Bedford; her fiancé, Thomas Marshall, of Bedford; two stepchildren, Kyle Marshall and Nicole Jenkins, of Bedford; three siblings, Christine Bornheimer, of Oswego, NY, John Loomis, of Parish, NY, and Tammy Antonucci, of Watertown, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, John Loomis.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 2p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with cremation to follow. Friends may call on Saturday, from Noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
