Janice C. Kern – Bedford
Janice C. Kern, 71, of Bedford, passed away at 10:33 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born August 1, 1941 in Bedford, Indiana, she was the daughter of Curtis and Bertha (Blake) Andis. She married Herschel Allen Kern, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Eagles Aerie #654 of Bedford.
Survivor include her mother, Bertha Andis, of Springville; one daughter, Angela and husband Dale Snapp, of Bloomington; three sons, Herschel Allen Kern, Jr. and wife Terria, of Williams; Philip Kern, of Oolitic; and Anthony Kern, of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Bridget, Tiauna, John, Josh, Jake, Clayton and Evan; two great-grandchildren, Austen and Rileigh; three brothers, Jim Andis, Mike Andis and David Andis; three sisters, Janet Morrow, Teresa Turner, Bobbi Perry; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, one sister, Donna, and one niece, Paula.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home; and on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

William Robert Guthrie – Mitchell
William Robert Guthrie, 81, of Mitchell, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born April 9, 1931, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William Raymond and Molly (Murphin) Guthrie. He married Mary Lorene Boyles February 21, 1952. William retired from General Motors and was a 1949 graduate of Medora High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lorene Guthrie, of Mitchell; sons, Stephen Guthrie and wife Teresa Lynn, of Lawrenceburg, Michael Guthrie and companion, Donna Parish, of Mitchell, Jeffery Guthrie and wife Diane, of Mitchell; daughters, Sandra and husband Don Lewis, of Mitchell, Connie and husband Joe Hill, of Bedford; 9 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; siblings, Jim Guthrie, of Bedford, George Guthrie, of Columbus, Arthur Guthrie, of Bedford, Stanley Guthrie, of Bedford, Myrtle Arnold, of Bedford, Clara Deaton, of Bedford, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cathy Guthrie; and brother, Joe Guthrie.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Fred Barger officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9107. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mina E. Seidler – Bedford

Mina E. Seidle, 79, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday December 18, 2012 at IU Health Bedford Hospital. She was born in Bedford on January 3, 1933 to Bart & Gladys (Moore) Kindred.
She graduated from Bedford High School in 1951, Mina married Harold Seidle in Peerless on February 10, 1951 and Harold survives. Mina worked many years for North Lawrence Community Schools in the cafeteria, she worked at the Central Kitchen, Parkview and BNL High School, and she was a member of the East Oolitic Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Seidle, of Bedford, two daughters, Peggy Snowden and husband Fred, of Bedford and Patty Winner and husband Jerry, of Bedford, three grandchildren, Charla Westerfeld, of Oldenburg, Justin Brown, of Mitchell and Shannon Nicholson of Bedford, three great grandchildren, Brady and Owen Westerfeld, of Oldenburg, and Jace Nicholson,of Bedford, one brother Robert Kindred, of Bedford.
Mina was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard Kindred, one sister,Georgia Lantz and one grandchild, Robin Winner.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday December 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday until service time at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Brother Millard Jones officiating.
Barbara E. (Campbell) Thacker – Mitchell
Barbara E. (Campbell) Thacker, 65 of Mitchell, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 10:49 Pm at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital.
She was born on December 1, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Edmond & Roxie (Marcum) Campbell. Barbara attended Paoli schools and had previously worked in Florida in the Pest Control business.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri and husband Mike Huff, of Mitchell, one grandson, Aaron Land, of Princeton, two brothers, Doc Campbell and Clyde Campbell, of Paoli, one sister Mary Music, of Paoli.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Johnny Campbell.
Cremation with no services was chosen.
Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
