Ruth E. Matthew – Mitchell
Ruth E. Matthew, 88, of Mitchell, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 6, 1924, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Clarence A. and Cora (Neal) Moore. She married Paul Vernon Matthew December 24, 1945, and he preceded her in death June 23, 1977.
She was a homemaker and since age 12, a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Janice A. and husband Rick Ramey, of Mitchell, Kathy L. and husband Paul Stroud, of Mitchell, Gregory P. Matthew and wife Lori, of Rising Sun; grandchildren, Tara L. Ramey, Troy M. Ramey, Lindsay N. Kidwell, Lance M. Stroud, Tiffany L. Madaris, Hilary B. Matthew, and Mallary R. Matthew
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; close friend, Roscoe Jean; sisters, Virginia Gilbert and Anna Mae Howell; and brother, Cletus Moore.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Greg Matthew and Rev. Eric Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers: Paul Stroud, Lance Stroud, Jason Kidwell, Troy Ramey, Scott Hall, and Greg Matthew.
