The following obituaries were received for Sunday –


David S. Cooper – Bedford
David S. Cooper age 60 of Bedford, David was born in Lawrence County on March 21, 1952 to Emery & Lurline (Terrell) Cooper, He attended Bedford High School and Indiana University, David was a certified welding inspector (CWI), He married Laurie Gaiser-Staggs on June 17, 1995 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and she survives.
David started on the pipeline as a welder’s helper with his brothers Ron and John Cooper in the early 1970’s, they traveled from Texas to Alaska with the Pipeline, he worked as a welder for 19 years at Indiana Steel in Bedford, he returned to Pipeline construction in 2007 as a Certified Welding Inspector, with his brother John Cooper and they traveled through many states working on the pipeline. David loved to travel and his work on the pipeline, he also enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR & golf on TV, he also
enjoyed going to the drive-In.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie Cooper, of Bedford; 2 step-sons, John H. Staggs and wife Niki, of Bedford and Jeffrey S. Staggs and wife Leslee, of Bedford; brother, John W. Cooper and wife Laurie Elizabeth, of Bedford, sisters, Sondra “Soni” Stout, of North Carolina and Cindy Hammersley, of Kentucky; nieces, Ginger Purdy, Frankie Johnson both of Bedford; Stephanie Williams, of South Bend and April Straughn, of Kentucky who all were raised with David along with great nephew, Braxton Turpen of Bedford, several other nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Linda Cooper, of Arizona, brother-in-law Don Stroud, of Mitchell.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Cooper; sister, Lila Stroud; brother-in-law, Ronnie D. Stout, and brother-in-law John Hammersley.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford
Friends may call on Tuesday December 11, 2012 from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens
