John Barnes – Bedford
John Barnes, 50, of Bedford, passed away at his home Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 6 a.m.
Born April 2, 1962 in Fries Point, Mississippi, he was the son of Johnnie Barnes and James Edward Monagon. He was employed at Midwest Metal Spinning in Bedford. John
was a friendly person who enjoyed barbecuing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish fond memories of him, his mother, Johnny of the home; his father James; three daughters, Candy, Tiffany, and Lawanda; sons, John, Roney, John Jr., Tarence, and Tyrone; sixteen grandchildren; three brothers, Ivory, Kirk, and Ken; one nephew living in the home, Melvin; eight aunts; six uncles; a very special friend, Terri; and a host of cousins and friends.
John was preceded in death by two sons, Lamont and Josiph.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Donald Griffin officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to service time on Friday, November 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Virgina R. Mongold – Mitchell
Virginia Mongold, 94, passed away at 9:43 p.m. Thursday, November 22, 2012, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born November 17, 1918, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of George and Roxie (Edwards) Blackwell. She married Charles Robertson May 16, 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1975. Her second marriage was to Dewey Mongold in November of 1979 and he preceded her in death January 28, 1986. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include son Kenneth E. Robertson and wife Diana, of Mitchell; her grandchildren, Steve Robertson, and wife Beth; Carla Taylor and husband Naaman; Mark Williams and wife Chel; Missy Taylor and husband Kevin, Marcy Ellis and husband Tony; 7 great granddaughters; 5 great great granddaughters; 3 great great grandsons
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; sons, Farrell Dean and Larry Dale Robertson; brother, Denzil Blackwell; and sister, Helen Young.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at Spice Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Spice Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.
Casketbearers: Justin Hunter, Ricky Carpenter, Austin Carpenter, Chad Lee, David Goodwin, Mark Williams, and Trevor Farmer.

Dr. Thomas J. Fountaine – Bedford
Dr. Thomas J. Fountaine, 95, of Bedford , passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford .
Born September 7, 1917 in Elkhorn , Wisconsin , he was the son of Charles and Catherine (White) Fountaine. He married Ruth S. Humphrey on November 13, 1943; and she passed away January 30, 2009. He was a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin Medical School. He was a medical doctor in Lawrence County starting in 1949 until his retirement. He also served in the US Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bedford, member of the American Medical Association and a member of the Lawrence County Medical Society.
Survivors include one son, Thomas J. Fountaine II and his wife Tamra of Sate College Pennsylvania; Three daughters, Dianne Bellush and husband James of Bedford; Rev. Suzanne Fountaine of Cincinnati, Ohio; Cynthia Sudder and husband Paul of Carbondale, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 brother, Forrest Charles Fountaine; 2 sisters, Vivian Dickerson and Winifred Fountaine.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Rev. Suzanne Fountaine officiating. Entombment will follow at Cresthaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Monday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Wisconsin Medical School Scholarship Fund .

Juanita J. Terry – Mitchell

Juanita J. Terry, 86, passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at her residence.
Born February 13, 1926, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Ollie and Olive
(McCart) Eager. She married Asa A. Terry March 22, 1945. She had been employed as bookkeeper at Mitchell Motor Sales. Juanita was a member and organist at Spice Valley Baptist Church, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1944.
Survivors include her husband, Asa A. Terry, of Mitchell; daughter, Charlotte “Sissy” Sproles, of Mitchell; son, Timothy J. Terry, Houston, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma “Chick” Miller, of Mitchell, Charlotte Brown, of Seymour
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen W. Terry; and sister, Norma Rose Tanksley.
Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery.
