Stella M. Hicks – Orleans
Stella M. Hicks, 83, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born May 28, 1929, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Delbert and Frances
Aaron (Miller) Sutton. She married Lloyd Hicks June 14, 1947, and he preceded her in death October 22, 1988.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Orleans Christian Church. Stella graduated
from Mitchell High School in 1947.
Survivors include her children, Lloyd Wayne Hicks, Indianapolis, Delbert Marvin Hicks, French Lick, Georgia Bohlman, Orleans, James Hicks, Mitchell, Penny Pridemore, Mitchell; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Hicks; brother, James Marvin Sutton; and grandson, Derrick Denney.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 2, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 o’clock noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
