Paul Flavius Brassine – Bedford
Paul Flavius Brassine, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Garden Villa Nursing Center.
He was born April 27, 1927 in Brown Township in Martin County as one of 13 children and was the last surviving son of Severin Felix Brassine and Lucinda “Lucy” (Sipes) Brassine.
On August 8, 1947 he married Donna Christine Wilson and together they were blessed with six children. On November 16, 1974 he married Lois Ilene Wilson.
He was a member the Mount Olive Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, gardening and outdoors.
He is survived by his children; Larry Edwards, of Kinton, NC, Paul Douglas, of Loogootee, Merrill Dean, Lucinda Carol, of Shoals and Sandra Lynn, of Shoals and Brandi Diane; adopted granddaughter, Makiah; step children Chris Wright, Kelly Wright, Shawna Wright and Debbie Wilson, two sisters, Saraphine Doane and Sylvia Jones; 30 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Robert Lee, of Loogootee; brothers, Dave, Frank, John, Ray and William and sisters, Ida, Grace Melton, Florence, Lucille and Louise Retrovich.
Visitation will be at Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals on Wednesday, June 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday, June 21st at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
The Dover Hill Christian Union Church will be providing a meal for the family and friends after the burial.
