The following obituaries were received for Friday –


Betty Ruth Sears Beren – Bedford
Betty Ruth Sears Beren, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born August 8, 1931 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Lester and Vada (Anderson) Mullinax. She first married John “Tom” Sears on November 25, 1949 and he passed away on February 21, 1995. She later married Ralph Beren on July 25, 1997 and he passed away on November 26, 2008. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Baldwin and husband Gary, of Bedford; granddaughter Michelle Hicks and husband Brian; grandson, Michael Baldwin and wife Megan, all of Bedford; great granddaughters, Megan and Mariah Hicks and Madeline Baldwin; a brother, Donald Mullinax and wife Bonnie, of Tunnelton; several nieces and nephews; two stepsons, Jim Beren and wife Ursula, of Pennsylvania, Gary Beren and wife Brenda, of Grandview; a stepdaughter, Karen Beren, of Grandview.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister, Judy Staggs; three brothers, Lester, Joe and Jim Mullinax; half sisters, Violet Borden and Edna Martin; half brothers Lee, Jack, Harry and Gene Mullinax.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bill McKee officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
