Donald Keith Pelfree – Bedford
Donald Keith Pelfree, 55, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Born January 1, 1957 in Chicago, IL., he was the son of Harless and Betty (Butcher) Pelfree. He was disabled and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his partner, Gayann Pelfree, of Bedford; four brothers, Jeffrey Bradley and Edward Bradley and wife Diane, all of Illinois, Randell Pelfree, of Wabash, Carroll Pelfree and wife Elizabeth, of Solsberry; four sisters, Darla Pruitt and husband Dale, of Owensburg, Rebecca Elliott, Marsha Patton and husband Roger and Sherry Wampler and husband Jeffrey, all of Bloomington; step children, Rennah White, of Bloomington, Tamorah Chandler and husband, Curtis and Angela Cox, all of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald, a grandson Roy Wayne White, a granddaughter Janna Tomilson and a stepdaughter Rita Thompson.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Carter Mortuary.
Esther Griffin – Palm Bay, Florida
Esther Griffin, 92, of Palm Bay, Florida, previously of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Bethesda on Turkey Creek Nursing Home in Palm Bay, Florida.
Born July 1, 1919 in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Evert and Jessie (Bailey) Beckwith. She married Dwayne Wilson Griffin and he preceded her in death. She was a retired teacher.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Juanita M. Pemberton – Mitchell
Juanita M. Pemberton, 80, of Mitchell, passed away at 3:28 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born February 12, 1932 she was the daughter of Clayton and Helen (Bartlett) Tow. She married Winfred J. “Wink” Pemberton August 14, 1948 and he preceded her in death March 11, 1992.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing slot machines at the casinos and traveling with her late husband. They had visited 47 of 50 states. She was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post 33 Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons Danny and wife Jonna Pemberton, of Mitchell, Steve Pemberton, of Bedford; daughter Anita and husband Max Bird, of Mitchell; granddaughters Lisa Fish and Briana Bird; grandson, Alan Pemberton, three great granddaughters, Abby D. Fish, Ally Fish and Ashlyn R. Pemberton; sister, Sue Steup, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister Ola Ann Agan and Wanda Brock and great granddaughter Anna Fish.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Reverend Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be Max Bird, Mark Craft, Dale Briner, Danny Pemberton, Alan W. Pemberton and Lisa Fish.

Janet Sue Yeary – Bedford

Janet Sue Yeary, 75, of Bedford, passed away at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born July 29, 1936 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Linza and Dorothy (Weaver) Stewart. She married Grover “D.C.” Yeary on December 13, 1952 and he survives. She worked at NWSC Crane 16 years as an electronic technician and was a homemaker. Janet was a gifted artist and painted as a hobby. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband; one son Blake and wife Teresa Yeary, of Leesville; two grandchildren, Heidi Yeary and Brandon Yeary, both of Bedford; two sisters, Judy and husband Ralph Zuttarelli and Linda and husband John Brown, both of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Charles Stewart and one sister Norma Jean Stewart in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be considered to the Augustus Cottage, Westview Manor for Alzheimer Care.
