The following obituaries were received for Monday –


Eva F. (Gould) Silvers – Bedford
Eva F. (Gould) Silvers, 82, of Bedford, passed from this life to her eternal rest at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital on Thursday.
She was born in Bedford, the daughter of Elza & Mary (Spall) Tidd. She married John William Gould on Dec. 28, 1946, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2001. She then married Earl Thomas Silvers on Nov. 15, 2008, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2011.
She was retired and enjoyed many happy times with her friends, her family, and her church family.
She is survived by her beloved family, daughter, Brenda K. Fiddler (Edward); and her grandchildren, Staci Hearth (Bradley), and Lisa Fiddler-Moynihan (Michael); four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Heather, Amanda, and B.J.; brother, David Tidd (Janet); sister, Virginia Wallace; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; and brothers, Paul Tidd, Raymond Tidd, Charles Tidd, and Robert Tidd.
Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with visitation from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church in Bedford, with Dr. Reverend Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will then follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Elizabeth A. Eckman – Bedford

Elizabeth A. Eckman, 91, of Bedford, passed away at 12:23 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born December 2, 1920 in Elkhart, she was the daughter of Enoch Blair and Stella (Blood) Creech. She married Dr. Richard R. Eckman on June 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2006. She held a Bachelot of Science in Chemistry from Michigan State University. She had worked at the Bedford Public Library for many years and also taught piano to both children and adults. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and former member of the Salt Creek Power Squadron Auxiliary.
Survivors include her two daughters, Susan R. Pickens (David Borcherding) of Columbus, Mariane K. Buker (Jan) of Indianapolis; 3 grandchildren, Kirsten S. Venhjaus, Sarah R. Pickens and Daniel H. Buker; 3 great grandchildren, Isabelle, Claire, Vivienne Buker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Marjorie Eckman and one sister Helen Cooke.
Funeral services will be on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Pastor Beth Ann Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, June 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gerald John Bean – Corydon
Gerald John Bean, 82, of Corydon, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, at his residence.
Born March 24, 1930, in Norfolk, New York, he was the son of Frank and Hazel (Taylor) Bean. He married Lillian Frances Harvey on November 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1992. He was a retired pipe layer.
Survivors include his children, Deborah Adams, Chase Mills,of New York, Laura Love, of Mitchell, William Bean, Massena, of New York, Cheryl McGee, Massena, of New York; 15 grandchildren; brother, Harold Bean, of Syracuse, New York; sisters, Catherine Eppler, Plattsburg, of New York, Joyce McCarthy, of Malone, New York; Barbara Burnell, of Florida
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, John Gerald Bean; and sisters, Elizabeth Wiencek and Ruth Burgess.
Cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Massena, New York. Arrangements were entrusted to Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
