Lola G. Skinner – Bedford
Lola G. Skinner, 93, of Bedford, formerly of Oolitic, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born August 14, 1918 in Sumner, Ill., she was the daughter of Verner and Susie (Cunningham) Stoltz. She married James King on May 27, 1939 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1950. She later married Henry Skinner on June 9, 1956 and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1973. She was a secretary at the Oolitic Town Hall in the water works office. She was a member of the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (King) Kern and husband, Marvin, of Port Charlotte, Florida; a son-in-law, Donald Nolan, of Mitchell; a sister-in-law, Veneta Pickens, of Orleans; three sisters, Lois Emberton, of Forest, Ill., Juanita Kerby, of Hernando, MS and Donna Akers, of Lawrenceville, Ill.; a brother, Bill Stoltz, of Decatur, Ill.; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Myrtle Ditch and Mona Dodson; five brothers, Mervin, George, James Verner, Larry and Leo Stoltz; a daughter Brenda Nolan.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Mark Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle Building Fund.

Eleanor “Sis” Graves – Bedford

Eleanor “Sis” Graves, 78, of Bedford, passed away at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday, April , 2012 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born March 13, 1934 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Newton A. and Maude L. (Smith) Taflinger. She married Robert I. Graves in 1955 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1991.
She had been employed at Regal-Beloit and was former owner of Annie’s Old Place. Sis enjoyed walking and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, David and his wife Charlene Graves, of Orleans, Glenn and his wife Gail Graves, of Clarksville, TN., Steven and his wife Kristi Graves, of Mitchell, Colleen Thurman of Coquille, Oregon; brothers James Taflinger, of Paoli, Charles Ed Taflinger, of Mitchell; sisters Norma Jean Sloan, of Linton, Kay Trueblood, of Atlanta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Victor Graves and Julie Graves; siblings, Newton J. Taflinger and Anna McCart and granddaughter Sheena Graves.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Brother Greg McBride officiating. Cremation was chosen and burial will be later in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
