Leta A. Myers – Orleans
Leta A. Myers, 97, of Orleans, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Salem Crossing in Salem.
Leta was one of triplets born May 2, 1914, in Campbellsburg to Willis C. and Rose (Wheeler) Lawyer. She had been employed at Smith Cabinet and was a member of Liberty Christian Church in Orleans.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry and his wife Frances Myers, of Campbellsburg, Jack and his wife Yvonne Myers, of Circleville, Ohio; sister, Laura Keister, of Orange County, California; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; triplet sisters, Lela E. Brown and Lena E. Hurst, and Maude Voyles Boisen; and brother, Lawrence Lawyer.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Bro. Don Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Christian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Nancy A. Tompson – Mitchell
Nancy A. Thompson, 63, of Mitchell, passed away at 12:04 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Westview Manor and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 12, 1948, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Harold and Geraldine (Diver) Cannon. She had been employed at General Electric and StoneBridge Health Campus. Nancy graduated from Lawrenceville High School.
Survivors include her children, Candace Lynn and husband Tim King, of Sarasota, Florida, Clinton Stewart and wife Jenny Thompson, Kenya Marie and husband Daniel Leonard, of Englewood, Florida, Kacey Louise Thompson, of Pekin, mother, Geraldine Cannon, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; siblings, Bill and wife Cindy Cannon, of Fishers, Kathy and husband Joe Williams, of Mitchell, Jan and husband Greg Cotton, of St. Francisville, Illinois, Robert and wife Marcia Cannon, of Columbia, Illinois, Beth and husband Alan Raggo, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; infant son, Kurtis Stewart Thompson; and a grandson.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, at Mitchell Cemetery with Deacon Dave Reising officiating.

Harold Paul Allen – Heltonville
Harold Paul Allen, 69, of Heltonville, passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at his home.
Born November, 10, 1942, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Durward and Helen (Lantz) Allen. He was married to Elaine Slaton on July 28, 1967 and she survives. He retired from Cummins Engines corp. as an assembly worker and also worked for North Lawrence Community Schools corp. as a custodian.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine and three daughters: Melissa Hackney and her husband Dave, of Leesville, Jamie Wilkams and her husband Stan, of Bloomington, Geri James and her husband Robert, of Bedford; two sons: Scott Allen, of Heltonville, Josh Allen and his fiance Jennifer Smith, of Heltonville; six grandchildren: Tyler McGlocklin, Jacob Perry, Chase Allen, Mikala Hagg, Nathan Williams and Evan Williams; one sister, Janet Fleetwood and her husband Donnie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Wendy Vanderzee officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, January 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to IU Health Bloomington Hospital Hospice Program.

Doris Bartlett – Bedford
Doris Bartlett, 82, of Bedford, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born August 23, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of James and Helen (Roberts) Bellush. She was a secretary for the local cable company and secretary for City of Bedford Water Works Department. She graduated from Bedford High School class of 1946 and was a member of Dunn Hospital Pink Ladies.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Wagoner and her husband Woodrow, of Mitchell; one son, Stephen Bartlett and his wife Lois, of Williams; three grandchildren, Laura Williams and her husband Michael, of Franklin, Aaron Wagoner and his wife Kristina, of Springville, Katelin Wagoner, of Anderson; one great granddaughter, Adelyn Williams.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Eugene “Rabbit” Walters – Bedford
Eugene “Rabbit” Walters, 81, of Bedford, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born October 4, 1930, he was the son of Albert and Laura (Stigall) Walters. He married Mildred Edington on April 8, 1960 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2004. He later married Martha Glasgow on March 1, 2008 and she survives. He retired from General Motors in Bedford. He was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church, a member of the UAW local #440 and a member of the Lawrence County Saddle Club. He raised rabbits, was an avid horseman, an artist, and enjoyed riding dirt bikes and fishing. After his retirement he owned Rabbit Transit Trucking Company and Rabbits Lawncare, and drove a truck for the Times-Mail.
Survivors include his wife Martha, of Bedford; two sons, Charles Walters and his wife Peggy, of Bedford, Greg Walters and his wife Sherry, of Bedford; two step-daughters, Rita Euhl and her husband Robert, Shelia Luttrell and her husband Terry, of Bedford; one step-son, Jeff Glasgow and his wife Lora, of Bedford; four granddaughters: Amy Brothers and her husband Mark, of Mitchell, Amanda Oktavec and her husband Joe, of Bedford, Starr Anna Walters and her fiance Erik Eiteljorge, of Bedford, Reva Diehl and her fiance Brandon Yother; several great grandchildren and great great grand children; one nephew Dewayne Walters, of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mildred Walters, one brother Robert Walters, his twin sister Imogene Walters and twin siblings Buddy and Sis.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 9th at the Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Father Charlie Carpenter officiating. No public visitation per Rabbits wishes. In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends consider memorial contributions to the White River Humane Society.
