David Lynn Dobbs – Bedford
David Lynn Dobbs, 72, of Bedford, passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at I.U. Medical Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.
Born February 4, 1939 in Bedford, he was the son of Richard H. and Mary Lois (Worrell). He married Janet K. Hatfield in 1962 and she survives. He retired from Cummins Engine in Columbus after 31 years.. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard for 9 years. He was loving and generous to his wife and children. He enjoyed classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Janet, of Bedford; five children, Jerry Dodds and wife, Beth; Dianna Voorhees and husband Dan; David L. Dodds and wife Shelley; Mary Elizabeth Dodds; Jennifer Dodds; a daughter-in-law Cari; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Blatz and husband Doug, of N. Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dennis Allen Dodds and one brother Dennis Lee Dodds.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Moneva (Lawyer) Staley – Bedford
Moneva (Lawyer) Staley, 94, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at 12:42 p.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born December 23, 1916 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Issac and Minnie Ida (Hall) Lawyer. She married Walter L. Staley on December 9, 1932 and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Oolitic Trinity Pentecostal Church. She had worked at M. Fine & Sons and also Szabo Food Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue New, of Bedford and Linda Benson and her husband Richard, of New Palestine; a niece, Beatrice Smith, of Bloomington, who was like a sister; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Walter Staley Jr. and Robert Staley; nine siblings: Damon Lawyer, Darvol Lawyer, Alva Lawyer, Dorothy Patton, Pauline Harvey, Mabel Srygley, Margaret Elizabeth Sullivan, Roland Lawyer and Arthur Lawyer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.

Justin Laine Dotts – Mitchell
Justin Laine Dotts, 33, of Mitchell, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Indiana University Health Bedford.
Born June 19, 1978, in Bedford, he was the son of Tim and Roxanna (Williams) Dotts. He was self employed and a member of Holy Ridge Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Tim and Loretta Dotts, of Mitchell; the mother of his children, Shirley Dotts, of Mitchell; children, Miranda Dotts, Jordan Dotts, and Shandalyn Dotts, of Mitchell; companion, Lisha Ray, of Mitchell; grandmother, Wanda Pridemore, of Mitchell; siblings, Jeremy and his wife Diana Dotts, of Paoli; David Hayes, of Mitchell; Jerrod and his wife Brandy Dotts, of Mitchell; Josh and his wife Jamie Dotts, of Bedford; Jessica and her husband Ricky Berk, of Mitchell; Alissa and her husband Eric Shoults, of Mitchell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxanna Williams; daughter, Shianna Dotts; paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, at Mitchell Cemetery, with Bro. Lowell Keith officiating.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
