Jonah Lee Grubb – Mitchell
Jonah Lee Grubb, 24, of Mitchell, passed away at 11:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011, following an automobile accident.
Born July 22, 1987, in Bedford, he was the son of Ronald Lee and Polly (Sanders)
Grubb.
He was employed at American Utilities and was a member of Fishing Creek Chapel and
White River Bow Hunters Club.
Surviving are his parents, Ronald and Polly Grubb, of Mitchell; brother, Ky (Stephanie) Grubb, and son, Morgan, of Mitchell; sister, Addie Grubb, Mitchell; grandparents, Harold and Rondee Sanders, of Mitchell, James and Linda Grubb, of Mitchell; aunts, Cheryl (Darrell) Boone, of Mitchell, Missy (Tim) Barksdale, of Campbellsburg, Jamie (William) Thacker, of Mitchell, Kelly (John) Payton, of Mitchell; uncle, Kipp (Christina) Sanders, of Bloomington and several cousins
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Yancey Unger officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be, Ky Grubb, Josh Harper, Kaden Williams, Ethan Payton, Calin Payton,
Levi Fletcher, T. J. Voorhies, Darrell Boone, and Jason Boone.

William H. “Bud” Chastain – Englewood, Florida
William H. “Bud” Chastain, 82, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Englewood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Englewood, Florida.
Born October 9, 1928, in Bedford, he was the son of Fred Thomas and Mabel (Compton) Chastain. He married Dorothy M. Cummings in 1948 and she preceded him in death December 14, 1988. His second marriage was to Jeneva Howell.
He retired from General Motors and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948.
Surviving are his wife , Jeneva Chastain, of Englewood, FL.; daughters, Pamela Sue Moore, of Mitchell, Rita Marie Chastain, of Mitchell, Lucinda Gay Garceau, of Williams; brother, Jack Chastain, of Bedford; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
His parents; daughter, Jamie Ramey; and sister, Betty Mather, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, in Mitchell Cemetery with Reverend Eric Kersey officiating.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
Casketbearers are Danny Moore, Scotty Moore, Donnie Gratzer, Travis Duncan, Brent Garceau and Luke Garceau.

Mabel Fortner – Bedford
Mabel Fortner of Bedford passed away Monday morning at her home at the age of 97.
Born in 1913 in Bedford to Emery and Martha Turpen, Mabel married Ralph Fortner, he preceded her in death.
Mabel was a longtime member of the leatherwood Christain Church.
Mabel is survived by her daughter Dottie, five grandchildren, sister Muriel and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, son Darrel and brother Gene.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10am until time of service at Ferguson Lee, with funeral services beginning at 2:30pm.
Burial will follow at Leatherwood Cemetery.
Zoey Martinez – Bedford
Zoey Martinez passed away on Monday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 4.
Zoey was born in 2006 and was the daughter of Tony and Lindsee Martinez.
Zoey is survived by her parents, sister Kennedy, maternal grandparents Duane and Dana Bailey, paternal grandparents, David and Anna Martinez, uncles and aunts Nathan and Jessica Bailey, David Martinez and Heather Flores, cousins Noah and Jonah Bailey, Cameron and Camden Martinez and Blake Martinez.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday at Day and Carter with funeral services being held on Thursday at 11am at Mundell Christain Church, burial will follow at Mundell Christain Church Cemetery.
Daniel Pierce – Avoca
Daniel Pierce of Avoca passed away Sunday night at Westview Nursing and Rehab Center in Bedford at the age of 65.
Born in 1945 in Lawrence County to Edward and Mary Alice Pierce, Daniel married Donna Sue Douglas in 1965 and she survives.
Daniel was a retired group leader at RCA.
Daniel is survived by his wife Donna sue, daughter Christy, son Bill, grandchildren Katie and Caroline, brothers Larry and Victor, sisters Caroline and Elaine and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm at Day and Carter, with funeral services being held on Thursday at 1pm at Day and Carter.
Burial will follow at Fayetteville Community Cemetery.
