James M. “Jim” Wray – Bedford
James M. “Jim” Wray of Bedford passed away at Garden Villa Wednesday at the age of 89.
Born in 1922 in Bedford to Millard J and Mary Osborne Wray, he married Wilma Darcus in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2009.
Jim was a WWII veteran and a lifelong member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
He is survived by sons, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by members of America Legion Gillen Post #33, Bedford.
Hazel Marie Godsey – Bedford
Hazel Marie Godsey of Bedford passed away at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital on Wednesday at the age of 81.
Born in 1929 in Gray, KY to John and Leota Elliott, she married Robert Paul Godsey in 1960 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Hazel worked at RCA for more than twenty-five years prior to her disability retirement. At the age of seventy, she returned to school and earned her GED.
Survivors include three daughters, one son, grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, seven brothers and one daughter from her first marriage.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10am on Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
