Carlos Lee Blakey – St. Petersburg, Florida
Carlos Lee Blakey of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away on Friday, June 17th at Hospice House Woodside at the age of 100. Born in 1911 in Beech Grove to Robert and Susan Blakey, he had been a diesel mechanic from Pinellas Lumber & Concrete and attended Fairview Church. He is survived by three sons, Don, Dennis and Steven Blakey; two daughters, Elaine Blakey and Barbara Miller; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as one brother, Robert Blakey. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; brothers, Frank and Ray Blakey; sisters, Ruby Webber, Naomi Hutchison and Lillian Copas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 25th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 1:00PM on Saturday, June 25th at the funeral home.
Joseph W. Goldsby – Oolitic
Joseph W. Goldsby of Oolitic passed away on Monday, June 20th at Indiana University Medical Center at the age of 49. Born in 1981 in Phoenix, Arizona to Carl Donald Goldsby and Wanda Murphy, he was a custom furniture finisher. He is survived by his mother; his former wife, Dawn Oppendahl; one daughter, Skyler Goldsby; one son, Jeremiah Goldsby; as well as one sister, Terry Goldsby-Fiely and a brother, John Goldsby. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at 7:30PM on Thursday, June 23rd at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with private burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 7:30PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
