John Johnson – Mitchell
John Johnson of Mitchell passed away on Friday, April 15th at Indiana University Health Bloomington at the age of 63. Born in 1947 in Mitchell to John Reuben and Ruth Irene Johnson, he had been married to Rita Mae Capien since 1970, was retired from Lehigh Cement Company and was owner of JJ’s Taxidermy. John was also a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmen Club and the National Rifle Association, was a U. S. Navy Seabee, military policeman, and veteran of the Vietnam War and was also a member of American Legion Post No. 250. He is survived by his wife; sons, John Edward Johnson, Jr. and Michael Wesley Johnson and his wife Angela; several grandchildren; brothers, David Johnson, Eddie Johnson and Joey Johnson; sisters, Regina Gillespie, Beverly Johnson, Patricia Osmon and Judith Hackney. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Reuben. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, April 19th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Thomas Lee Spicer – Bedford
Thomas Lee Spicer of Bedford passed away on Friday, April 15th at this residence at the age of 60. Born in 1950 in Bloomington to Lee Spicer and Vivian Spicer, he had been married to Faye Sykes since 1993, was an HVAC Mechanic, was a graduate of Bloomington High School and was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife; one son, Jesse Spicer; as well as two brothers, Tim Spicer and Jim Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, April 19th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday.
