Helen L. Guthrie – Bedford
Helen L. Guthrie passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 89. Born in 1921 in Bedford to Arthur Isom and Virginia Isom, Helen had been married to Harold Guthrie since 1940, was a homemaker, abstractor, was a member of the Pinhook Church of Christ, attended Oolitic Church of Christ, Bedford Writing Club and was a graduate of Bedford High School in the class of 1938. She is survived by two sons, Arthur Guthrie and Paul Guthrie; several grandchildren; one sisters, Lois Hunter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Norris Isom and one son, Harold Guthrie. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, March 25th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Roy M. Holt – Mitchell
Roy M. Holt of Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd at his residence at the age of 63. Born in 1947 in Lawrence County Ernest and Oma Mae Holt, he had been married to Belinda Williams since 1978, was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietman War, had been employed in the heating and cooling business and was also a roofer. He is survived by his wife; children, Tracey Stidam, Denem Stidam and Robert Holt; several grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Massey and Joyce Frost as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Holt; and sisters, Charlotte Passmore and Margaret Tanksley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, March 25, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
