William Eugene Delpha – Trafalgar
William Eugene Delpha of Trafalgar passed away Friday evening, October 22nd at Community Hospital at the age of 85. Born in 1925 in Oolitic to Henry and Mary Delpha, he had been married to Barbara Grayer and was retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. William was a member of Fairhaven Christian Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife; one son, Mike Delpha; two step-sons, Alan and Michael Grayer; two sisters, Pauline Baker and her husband Harold and Ilene Wintergerst; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Roseanna; three sisters, Mabel Lewis, Marjorie Christenberry and Mary Delpha; and six brothers, Louis, Jimmy, Robert, John, Paul and Harry Delpha. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, October 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Tuesday at Day & Carter Mortuary.
Gordon W. Long – Bedford
Gordon W. Long of Bedford passed away Saturday afternoon, October 23rd at his residence at the age of 87. Born in 1923 in Bedford to Walter Long and Mary Katherine Long, he had been married to Fern Wever since 1946, was employed as a heating and air conditioning mechanic, was a real estate broker and was retired from NWSC Crane. Gordon was a graduate of Bedford High School in the class of 1942, was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #1166 3 & 4, American Legion Gillen Post #33, Elks Club #826 and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Mike, Jim and Dan Long; one brother, Thomas Long; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Walter Long. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, October 27th at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with burial to follow in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, October 26th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
