Lenette Ann Hopkins Guthrie – Cambellsburg
Lenette Ann Hopkins Guthrie of Cambellsburg passed away Saturday evening, August 21st at her residence at the age of 64. Born in 1946 in rural Mitchell to Leonard and Anna Rowena Hopkins, she had been married to Thomas Guthrie since 1965. Lenette was a graduate of Orleans High School, held an associate degree from IUS and a bachelor’s degree in human resource managements from Oakland City University, worked at several jobs, was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church and attended Mt. Carmel Christian Church. She is survived by her husband; sons, Jeff Guthrie and Tim Guthrie and his wife Tricia; sisters, Rita Bowman and Debbie Bowman; brothers, Frank, Ronnie, Joe and Lindy Hopkins as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 25th at Mt. Carmel Christian Church with burial to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the church.
Ramona D. Walton of Bedford
Ramona D. Walton of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, August 21st at her residence at the age of 63. Born in 1947 in Martin County to Leroy and Roma Young, she had been married to Clarence Walton since 1974, was a retired hairdresser, a graduate of Loogootee High School and was of catholic faith. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard Jewell and Martin Tow; two sisters, Katie Hellums and Susan Sons and one brother, Charles Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 4th at 10:00AM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
Marcia Helen Chambers Krutchen – Bedford
Marcia Helen Chambers Krutchen of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, August 21st at Garden Villa at the age of 78. Born in 1932 in Orleans to Donald and Helen Chambers, she had been married to Malcom Krutchen since 1954, was an artist and published poet and children’s book author. Marcia was a member of the American Pen Women, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and was a former board member of the Orleans Public Library. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Charles Krutchen; two daughters, Susan Flynn and Beth Landreth; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Donald Curtis Krutchen and one sister, Mary Jane Young. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, August 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
Brenda Kay Louden Shipman – Bedford
Brenda Kay Louden Shipman of Bedford passed away Friday morning, August 20th at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 61. Born in 1949 in Bedford to Walter Eugene Louden and Phyllis Ruth Louden, she had been married to Dwain Shipman since 1969, was a kindergarten teacher at Parkview Elementary School for 34 years, attended Indiana State University and was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Trisha Moutardier; one brother, Tim Louden; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Vicky Vogler; as well as one brother, Terry Louden. Cremation was chosen and no services are planned.
George York – Bedford
George York of Bedford passed away Thursday evening, August 19th at Core Nursing Home at the age of 77. Born in 1933 in Morgan County to Ella Smith, he was a retired clerk. No services are scheduled. Burial will take place in Crown Point Cemetery.
