Naomi E. Norman – West Lafayette
Naomi E. Norman of West Lafayette passed away Thursday afternoon, July 1st at the Elizabeth Central Hospital in West Lafayette at the age of 89. Born in 1920 in Norman to Ulysses Grant and Amanda Norman, she was a secretary at Purdue University. She is survived by two sisters, Blanche Maxwell and Florence Todd; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Julia Schultz and Katie Norman; one brother, Ernest Norman. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 6th at Green Hill Cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 9:00AM until 10:30AM on Tuesday, July 6th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
Patricia T. Kyme Kerr – Bedford
Patricia T. Kyme Kerr of Bedford passed away Sunday morning, July 4th at I.U. Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1929 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jester Taylor and Ruth Taylor she married William Kyme in 1952 and Donald Kerr in 1985. Patricia was a teacher at Bedford North Lawrence High School and Bedford High School, was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and from Indiana University, was a member of Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa: Daughter of the Confederacy. She is survived by one son, John William Kyme and his wife Nancy; one sister, Peg Moore; two stepdaughters, Connie Kerr Snapp and Ketherine Kerr Birge; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, George Leonard Kym and both husbands. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7th at 10:30AM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, July 6th at the funeral home.
Maxine Fletcher – Bedford
Maxine Fletcher of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Kay”, passed away Friday morning, July 2nd at Garden Villa at the age of 70. Born in 1940 in Jackson County to Curtis and Benza Fisher, she had been married to Joe Fisher since 1980, was a factory worker and had previously attended Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by one son, Dale Crane; several grandchildren; three brothers, Ellis Fisher, Jim Fisher and Garry Fisher; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one sister, Eva Miller. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 6th at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Monday, July 5th at the funeral home.
Judith Lee Davis – Mitchell
Judith Lee Davis of Mitchell passed away Saturday morning, July 3rd at her residence at the age of 65. Born in 1945 in Lawrence County to Harry and Ruth Williams, she married Max Bryant in 1964 and Roger Davis in 1992. She was retired from Lehigh Cemetery Company, was a graduate from Mitchell High School in 1963, was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of L.I.F.E. Food Pantry. She is survived by her husband, Roger Davis; children, Mark Bryant and Marci Ramey and her husband Kurt; stepchildren, Stephanie Davis and Steve Davis and his wife Tonya; one sister, Jetta Jenkins and her husband John; one brother Jack Williams and his wife Sandee; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 6th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Spice Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday and from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Tuesday.
