Michael R. Allen – Oolitic
Michael R. Allen of Oolitic passed away Sunday afternoon, June 20th at the Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 59. Born in 1951 in Lawrence County to Lawrence Raymond and Dorothy Allen, he had been married to Susie Ridge since 1994 and was retired from INDOT as a Quality Controller. He is survived by his wife; two children, David Tatro and Heather Speer and her husband Larry; several grandchildren; one brother, John Allen and his wife Sharron; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, June 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 23rd and from 8:00PM until the hour of service on Thursday, June 24th.
Cathy L. Strunk – Oolitic
Cathy L. Strunk of Oolitic passed away on Sunday, June 20th at Bloomington Hospital at the age of 55. Born in 1955 in Bloomington to Ralph McPike and Sharlene Miller, she had been married to Micahel Strunk, was employed at General Motors for 6 years and also worked for Older American Home Health Care. Cathy was also a graduate of Oolitic High School in the class of 1972, was a member of Dive Christian Church and attended Bethel Christian Church in Greene County. She is survived by two daughters, Tiki Gann and Lakindra Harper; one son, Chanden Strunk; one brother, David Anderson; seven sisters, Sharon Wright, Donna Staten, Betty Anderson, Susie Busick, Angela Anderson, Annete Zink and Kim Miller; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24th at 1:00PM at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 23rd at the funeral home.
