Renee Summers – Bedford
Renee Summers of Bedford passed away Tuesday night at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 47. Born in 1963 in Bedford to Billy and Gloria Arthur, Renee was a factory worker at General Motors. Renee is survived by her mother, son Tanner, brother Bill and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. A celebration of life will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Friday at Day and Carter Mortuary.
William Goldsberry Sr.- Huron
William Goldsberry Sr. of Huron passed away Tuesday evening at Bloomington Hospital at the age of 67. Born in 1943 in Lawrence County to Harvey and Mary Goldsberry he married Rebecca Bowden in April 1969. William was retired from US Gypsum and was a member of the Huron Church of God and Mitchell Masonic Lodge no. 228, veteran of the US National Guard and member of American Legion Post no. 250. He is survived by his wife, son William Jr., daughters Wendy and Amy, nine grandchildren, a great grandson, sister Barbara and brothers Donald and David. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday at the First Church of God in Mitchell burial will follow at Port Williams Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8pm on Friday at Chastain Funeral Home, and from 9:30 am until time of the service on Saturday at First Church of God in Mitchell.
Dorothy Stancombe – Mitchell
Dorothy Stancombe formerly of Mitchell passed away Wednesday morning at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1930 in Lawrence County to Millard and Pearl Baker, Dorothy married Manfred Stancombe in 1953. Dorothy was a homemaker and caregiver. She is survived by her daughters Vickie, Patty, Debra, and Marcella, sons Dale and Stephen, 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, sister Reva, and brothers Kenneth, Joe, Bud, and James. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Allen, great grandson Gavin, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Sunday at Chaistain Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
