John Fountain – Bedford
John Fountain of Bedford passed away Tuesday morning at Mitchell Manor at the age of 84. Born in 1925 in Lawrence County to Cletus and Gertrude Fountain, John married Doris Blackburn in 1947 and she survives. John was a life long farmer, member of Leatherwood Christian Church and veteran of the US Navy. John is survived by his wife, sons John and Jerry, daughter Susan, sisters Ruth and Janet, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Thomas and Robert. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10am at Day and Carter Mortuary burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation is Thursday from 3 to 8pm and Friday from 9am until time of the service at Day and Carter.
