Edna Crozier Charles – Oolitic
Edna Crozier Charles of Oolitic passed away Tuesday morning, May 4th at her residence at the age of 96. Born in 1913 in Bartlettsville to Howard and Emma Covey, she married to Thomas Crozier in 1947 and later Emery Charles in 1986. She was a homemaker, was a member of the East Oolitic Community Church and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Shoals. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Nikirk and her husband Danny, Brenda Terrell and her husband Roger; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husband; five sons, Thomas, Howard, Norman, Kenny and Jerry; three sisters; on brother and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 7th at 11:00AM in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Breckenridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, May 6th and from 10:00AM until the hour of service on Friday, May 7th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
Kenneth H. Childers – Seymour
Kenneth H. Childers of Seymour, known to friends and family as Kenny passed away on May 1st. Born in 1939 in Mitchell to Harold Solon and Edith Childers, he had been married to Theresa Cummings since 1958, was a retired meat cutter and was last employed at Wal-Mart. Kenneth was also a graduate of Mitchell High school in the class of 1958 and Indiana State University in the class of 1965. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theresa; six children, Anthony, Dawn, Shannon and Mike Childers, as well as Brigid Jarnagin and Spring Kiefer; several grandchildren and one sister, Karen Pogue. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Larry Childers. A celebration of life service will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, May 7th in the Recreation Hall at St. Ambrose Parish in Seymour. A private burial was held in Mitchell Cemetery.
Jodi Hamilton – Mitchell
Jodi Hamilton of Mitchell passed away Monday evening, May 3rd at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. Born in 1949 in Bedford to Charles and Marjorie Roberts, she had been married to Harold Hamilton since 1995, was employed at Acufast and was a 1967 graduate of Orleans High School. She is survived by her husband; daughters, Carmen Luttrell, Kimberly Stalker-Herron; one son, Richard Stalker; one stepson, Bradford Reed; stepdaughters, Sarah Hamilton, Crystal Hamilton and Angel Hamilton; one sister, Luelen Wilson and one brother, John Dixon as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother and one brother, Charles Roberts. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7th at 7:00PM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Huron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday at the funeral home.
