Laura Maude Anderson – Bedford
Laura Maude Anderson of Bedford passed away Wednesday morning, April 21st at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County at the age of 83. Born in 1926 in Lawrence County to Ephriam and Laura Covey, she had been married to Carl Anderson, was a homemaker and was employed at General Motors. She is survived by her husband of 41 years; children, Lucky Turner; Janice Johnson; Marilou Johnson; Bobby Turner; Linda Kendall; Carla Stites and Lisa Burgess; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dale Turner; and four brothers, Carl, Clint, Clifford and Clarence Covey. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 1:00PM in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Ruth Marie Corey – Oolitic
Ruth Marie Corey of Oolitic passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 21st at her residence at the age of 93. Born in 1916 in Knightstown, Indiana to Verna and Kyle Moore, she had been married to Willie Corey since 1946. Ruth was the co-owner and operator of the Windmill Drive-In for several years and was a 52-year member of the Dive Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Suzette Kern, Marilou Parsons and her husband Larry; one son, Dennis Corey and his wife Brenda; one sister, Lola Mae Walker; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mildred Speer and Joanne Kirkman; five brothers, Stanley, Kenneth, Wayne, Cecil and Myron Moore. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23rd at 3:00PM in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with entombment to follow. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Chesney Kathleen Allen – Indianapolis
Chesney Kathleen Allen of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday morning, April 20th at Riley Hospital at the age of 5. Chesney was born in 2004 in Bedford to Mike and Aubrey Allen. She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Cory and Colton Allen; one sister, Chloe Allen; her grandparents; as well as several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 1:00PM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, April 23rd at the funeral home.
Mike Chastain – Williams
Mike Chastain of Williams passed away on Sunday, April 18th at his residence at the age of 57. Born in 1952 in Bedford to Franklin and Mildred Chastain, he had been married to Wyvonna Deckard, was an auto body repairman and a member of the Bloomington Eagles #1085, Bedford Eagles #654 and Bloomington Amvets. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jerry Chastain and Daniel Pruett; one daughter, Jeanie Hebner; three brothers, Tom and Frank Chastain and Lee Judd; three sisters, Diane Chastain, Terry Judd and Tammie Judd. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 22nd at Clover Hill Cemetery at 2:00PM with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 11:30AM until 1:30PM on Thursday, April 22nd at Day & Carter Mortuary.
David Wayne Clouse – Bedford
David Wayne Clouse of Bedford passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 20th at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 57. Born in 1952 in Lawrence County to Heber and Mary Clouse, he had been married to Cathy Batman since 1975, was a driver for Lawrence County Solid Waste, was a graduate of Shawswick High School in the class of 1972 and attended Mundell Christian Church. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Cassie Davidson; one brother, Thomas Clouse; as well as two sisters, Janet Clouse and Connie Rollins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24th at 10:00AM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Ralph Turner, Jr. – Mitchell
Ralph Turner, Jr., of Mitchell passed away Monday morning, April 19th at his residence at the age of 53. Born in 1956 in Bedford to Ralph and Anna Mae Turner, he had been married to Deborah May since 1973 and was a self-employed carpenter. He is survived by his wife; one son, Eric Turner; his father; sisters, Regina Tillette, Patricia Turner and Ricky Turner. He was preceded in death by his mother; one son, Jamie Turner; and one brother, Allen Turner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 22nd at 10:00AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday and from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Thursday.
Dolores M. Gilstrap – Bedford
Dolores M. Gilstrap of Bedford passed away Wednesday evening, April 21st at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 79. Arrangements are pending at Day & Carter Mortuary.
