Joy Anna Beaver
Joy Anna Beaver, 88, of Bedford, died at 4:25am on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at Core Nursing Home.
Born January 9th, 1922 in Prairie Creek, she was the daughter of Joy E. Pitman and Josephine Gobin. She married Bob Beaver on June 20th, 1950 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a sister, Norma; a son, David Robert Beaver and grandchildren. Joy Anna Beaver was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am on Monday, April 5th at the First Baptist Church, 877 East Popular Street, Terre Haute, IN. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute. Friends my call from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Saturday, April 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00am until the hour of service on Monday, April 5th at the First Baptist Church in Terre Haute.
Ruth W. “Curley” Wray
Ruth W. “Curley” Wray, 87, of Mitchell, died at 5:50am Wednesday, March 31st, 2010, at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born August 17th, 1922, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Ira E. and Malinda E. Webster. She married Ralph K. Wray January 8th, 1944, and he preceded her in death on August 26th, 1977.
Survivors include children, Robert, Suella, Eddie, Delbert and Joe; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister; a sister in law and several nieces and nephews. Ruth W. “Curley” Wray was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandson, four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Monday, April 5th, at Woodville Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetary.
Friends may call from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 10:00am until the service on Monday at the church.
Charles R. Sowders
Charles R. Sowders, 62, of Bedford, died at 1:50pm on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 26th, 1947 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Charles W. and Alice Irene Sowders. He married Susan Smith on September 19th, 1970 and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of Bedford; one son, Doug; one daughter, Kelly; three grandchildren; one brother, Dennis; three sisters, Susan, Pamela and Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Monday, April 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Billy Brim officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside. Friends may call from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, April 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Ervin Parker
Ervin Parker, 78, of Bedford, died at 7:55pm on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
