Lowell P. Moffitt of Mitchell passed away Thursday morning, February 25th at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.
Born in 1919 in Mitchell to parents William M. and Eva (Edwards) Moffitt, he had been married to Eldean Sorrells since 1951.
Lowell was retired from Ford Motor Company, was a 1937 graduate of Mitchell High School and was a member of the Huron Church of God.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, was survived by his wife; one brother, Wendle Moffitt and his wife Pauline and a sister-in-law, Ruth Sorrels.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 1st at 10:30AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 9107.
Visitation will be from 2:00PM until 6:00PM on Sunday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home.
