Ruth Marie Phillips of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Toots”, passed away Monday morning, January 18th at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 70.
Born in 1939 in Lawrence County to parents, Hollie Tolbert and Hazel (Danner) Tolbert, she had worked at the Hospitality House for 10 years as a certified nursing assistant, worked at RCA and Schlegle Manufacturing and was of pentecostal faith.
She is survived by four daughters, Debbie Reynolds and her husband Brian, Dianna Delphia, Evonda Terrell, Patricia Wagner and her husband Donald; two sons, Randy Lee Phillips and Thomas Dewayne Phillips; several grandchildren; two brothers, Hollie Eugene Tolbert and his wife Pam and Walter Dale Tolbert; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Wayne Mason and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21st at 1:00PM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on wednesday, January 20th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
