Warren Colgazier, 89, Mitchell

Warren G. Colgazier of Mitchell passed away Wednesday morning, January 6th at Johnson Memorial Hospital at the age of 89.


Born in 1920 in Bedford to parents Claude and Bertha (Allegre) Colgasier, he had been married to Francille Imo McDonald since 1943, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 104th infantry division.
Warren was a graduate of Williams High School in the class of 1939, was a member of Huron Baptist Church, Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F & AM, charter member of the Lawrence County 4-H Fair Board, a 4-H leader and member of the Brown Swiss Association.
He is survived by children, Marietta C. Swaim, Terry Allen Colgazier and his wife Jean, Myra Elaine Colgazier, Anita Lynn Colgazier and Mark Warren Colgazier; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters, Lillian Williams, Ruth Purlee, Olive Larson and Lucille Colgazier; brothers, Frank Sears and Willard Colgazier.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10th at 1:30PM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bryantsville Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veteran of Foreign Wars No. 9107.
A memorial service will will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 6:30PM.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 7:00PM on Saturday, December 9th at Chastain Funeral Home.
