John W. Bratton, 48, Bedford

John W. Bratton II of Bedford, known to family and friends as “Tater,” passed away Thursday morning at his residence at the age of 48.


Born in 1961 in Daviess County to parents John W. and Shirley (Brassine) Bratton, he was a stonecutter for Summit & Evans and various other fabricators in the Bedford limestone mills.
John was most recently employed by Indiana Cut Stone, played guitar and was the lead vocalist for the bands “Southern Satisfaction” and “Bad Influence.”
He is survived by his mother; two daughters, Courtney Bratton Birkle and Emily Bratton; one son, Derek Conklin; one granddaughter, Bailye Bratton; three sisters, Sherry Seals and her husband Larry, Cathy Seals and her husband Denis and Carrie Seals and her husband Dennis.
He is preceded in death by his father and one brother Robert Bratton in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at the Queen – Lee Funeral Home in Shoals with burial to follow in Trinity Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Queen – Lee Funeral Home.
