Nora Tumey of Bedford, known to family and friends as Ruth, passed away Saturday afternoon at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.
Born in 1921 in Hart County Kentucky to Virgil and Mariah Srygler, Ruth was the former owner of Tumey’s Restaurant in Needmore and member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Lucy, sister Elizabeth, brohter Edward, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, sisters Vern, Thelma, Evelyn, Maragret and Lula.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Cresthaven Funeral Home at 1pm with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memorry Gardens.
Visitation is tonight form 4-8pm at Cresthaven.
