George N. Luallen, 82, Oolitic

George N. Luallen of Oolitic passed away Wednesday evening at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 82.


Born in 1927 in Lawrence County to parents Fred and Ethel (Owens) Luallen, George had been married to Sara F Hen since 1984.
He was the owner of Keach & Grove Real Estate, was the chief of the Bedford Police Department in the early 1960’s, was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Marine Corps, was a member of the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene, Gillen Post #33 American Legion and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Bill Luallen; one daughter, Polly Luallen; three grandchildren, Whitney, Kelsey and Jordan Luallen; as well as one sister, Martha Ritter.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
Visitation is Friday from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at Day & Carter Mortuary.
A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00PM on Friday by members of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.
