Mary Lou Morris of Mitchell passed away Tuesday evening at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 82.
Born in 1926 in Mitchell to parents Jesse and Cecelia (Routh) Melvin, Mary had been married to Rex Morris since 1944, was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Judith Tanksley and her husband Kenneth, Janet Cord and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Bryan Tanksley, Jessica Stewart, Jennifer Renteria, Allison Holladay; 4 great-randchildren; sisters, Ruth Isom and Lois Root.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith Deweese, Elva Russell, Lorena Elrod; brothers, Noble, Roscoe and Willard.
Services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Chastain Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00AM until the service at the church.
