John W. Taylor of Bedford passed away Friday morning at BRMC at the age of 85.
Born in 1924 in Martin County to William and Fannie Taylor, John was a retiree of both the US Navy and as a Coca-Cola truck driver, and member of 1st Baptist Church.
He is survived by his siblings Annabelle, Imojean, Hildred and Opal, and one nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Katherine, and sister Vernell.
Services will be held this afternoon at 1:00pm at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with burial to follow.
No visitation is scheduled.
