Donald G. Piper, 78, Bedford

Donald G. Piper of Bedford passed away Tuesday night at Bloomington Hospital at the age of 78.


Born in 1931 in Cale to Allen and Della Mae Piper, Donald was a winner of the American Legion Outstanding Student Award, Army veteran serving in Korea and Japan, teacher for Needmore, Bedford High School, director of adult and vocational education, vocational director, and served as Vice President and President of the Indiana Vocational Association and Council of Vocational Administrators, and was a long term member and deacon for the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Leslie, sister Judi, and 2 granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Hilltop Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm today and again from 11:00am until time of service tomorrow at Day & Carter.
